Eddie Hopkins Side-Handled Casserole

$150.00

Eddie Hopkins was the principal thrower at Winchcombe for more than 30 years. He was a force of nature, throwing and finishing hundreds of pots every week all the while keeping up a non-stop chatter and very likely listening to the Cricket on the radio. He introduced me to pubs and how to make a proper handle. He was known for generous robust forms and made them effortlessly. This one is part of the standard ware at Winchcombe, made in several sizes it’s the perfect pot for the oven…a generous handle to grab with a mitt when it’s hot and a lid with a low profile, perfect for stacking in a small kitchen and takes up less space in your oven. A classic tenmoku glaze with a nice dusting of wood ash. 4″ high x 9″ wide.
