V-1 “Lekythos” Vase

Most of my work is inspired by German and English medieval pottery via my experience at the Winchcombe Pottery. From time to time I like to play with forms from other cultures and this is one of those. It is an ancient form from Greece and I had fun with all the angles and the long neck and handle. It has a pale brushed slip and then it’s chattered before being wood fired and salt glazed.
