No.31 – ‘Medieval’ Jug (2004)

This is another ancient form that I first knew at Winchcombe.  Its is based on a classic European medieval form and is the basis for myself and many other potters around the world.  This is a particular juicy salt glazed surface fired in Toff’s kiln in Britain.  I spend most of my summers working in Toff’s studio escaping the Virginia heat and humidity and revisiting the place that set me on my course.
