No.29 – Salad Bowl (2002)

This bowl has been treasured in my kitchen for many years.  It’s a standard form for me with a rich crackle slip and my classic amber ash glaze.  I was offered a bucket full of old glass beads years ago and I regret taking only a handful.  I set those beads on the rim of this bowl and as they melted they flowed to the center creating copper blue flames which accentuated the crackle.  I often refer to this bowl as my “firework” bowl.
