No.27 – Ice Cream Bowl (1999)
This was a standard piece from my Hanover St. days. I did a lot of slip trailing over a white stoneware clay and used one of three variations of a glaze. I particularly like this dark green version made all the more special by adding chunks of glass beads. My friends might say that this pot also represents the Rappahanock River which I have distinct memories of on my first trip into town. I have avoided representational art my whole life and then I later discovered the birds. I just think it’s a pretty pot!
