No.24 – Lidded Tea Jar (2009)

This is another lobed tea jar with sprigs that I have called “studs.”  Thrown and altered, using a wooden stick to create the lobes.  This was fired in the wood kiln in western Maryland and was covered in ash but under-fired.  I re-fired it in my gas kiln and it came out spectacularly.  The variegated surface and the depth of the glaze are stunning.  Susan Wyatt then added the gold luster and created a very special pot to hold your very special loose tea.
