No.17 – Dinner Plate (1998)
This is an oldie but a goodie. I enjoy playing with a variety of rim treatments and carving the edges is simple way to change a pot quickly. This piece definitely exhibits my love of symmetry…my friend Michael Kline cuts the rims of his pots in a much more organic and loose way which I enjoy, but that’s not me. This has been in my kitchen since I made it and I always think of Michael when I used it…maybe you’ll think of him too if you purchase it!
Thrown and carved with poured and sprayed wood ash glazes. Signed on the bottom.
